Thanks to toymasheenSH of the DLCQuickplay forums for showing me the scan at http://dlcquickplay.com/forum.php?t=4631&page=2 Anyway, I know there’s been a lot of complaints about what’s been confirmed so far, but I’m liking what I’m seeing. I’m not familiar with the Ozzy/Metallica rerecording of Paranoid so it could be interesting, and although it may not be perfect for gameplay (piano-charting ahoy!) Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the best songs ever written and will get chosen at parties. It’s also nice to see some Kiss & ZZ Top back, and there’s some stuff that should satisfy the MOAR METALLZ!! idiots on the GH forums.

Goodbye Halo 2

So, last week the Xbox Live servers for all Original Xbox games were switched off, meaning that those games are no longer playable online. One game in particular that I will miss is Halo 2, and therefore I made a tribute montage to the game.

Guitar Hero Van Halen DEMO

If I were to show you this video, what would seem wrong?

I pretty sure anyone who can hear would realise that the sound is wrong. The reasoning behind this is that the record label Warner Music Group seem to not want free advertisement and therefore put in a copyright claim. The ‘offending’ song is Panama by Van Halen which has been officially liscensed by Neversoft + Activision for use in the game GH Van Halen. The video, which promotes the game which in turn promotes the artist, is not showing the label in any negative light, so why take it down? Especially in this case – Guitar Hero Van Halen is due for quite a late release and there are a lot of people not sure whether to buy the game or not. What do they do? They look for gameplay videos. The game – if successful – will do wonders for VH’s music and that’s right labels – their record sales. Put the pieces together and you’ll see why this whole thing is stupid.
